Background
Two of Ecosa's founders conducted extensive primary research concerning the flow of high risk equity capital to sustainable technologies and presented the results at two conferences in the fall of 2003: the first European Hydrogen Energy Conference in Grenoble and Sustainable Innovation 2003 in Stockholm. In addition to some very specific findings about that topic, the need for both equity and non-equity based financing became apparent.
