Accelerating Cleantech Commercialization

How to Build a Cleantech Cluster: Project 'Clean X'
(670K)We can do this through a set of online, digital tools (database, logical map, geographic map, and website) currently in development, and a series of analog, real world activities and events (poster sessions, lab visits, networking, team building, mentoring, competitions, etc.), many of which already exist and simply need to be linked together. The organization (maybe a cleantech trade association to promote the commercialization and adoption of such technologies) will build the trellis (tools and activities) that the cleantech community network will naturally grow upon and evolve from. -

Silicon Valley 2.0: A Cleantech Cluster in the Making
(18M)Well-defined paths now exist through the electrical engineering departments, the computer sciences departments, and the medical and public health schools to the business schools and to sources of risk capital and corporate customers to commercialize promising info and bio innovations. However, that same network effect and commercialization assistance the network provides is not readily available to most researchers working in other disciplines of equal or greater value. The concept (we presented to Omidyar over a year ago and that is now gaining traction) is to identify and nurture technology innovations that are both commercially viable and provide some degree of environmental benefit.
